This is the start of the 60- day challenge I have set for myself. I have accumulated an undesirable amount of visceral fat which is not good for my heart. I have been doing most all of the recommended things for my heart health such as eating right (Mediterranean-style diet), reducing stress (Yoga to start in August when kids go back to school), inhaling essential oil of lavender; to promote calmness and relaxation and lastly, exercise (dog-walking and daily bike rides).
The challenge is this - in 60 days, reduce my weight, and thus my visceral fat accumulation, and improve cardio-pulmonary functioning. I will be eating a healthy diet of a limited amount of calories. Today I will start with 1900 calories and as I lose weight, I'll reduce the amount. The target weight I have in mind is 150 #. I am 5'9" so this should leave me slender but not skinny. I'd hate to wither away to nothing...
